Chapter 5

Layton wanted their first time together to last. To take forever to make love to Cody so she’d know without a doubt that he loved and cherished her. However, his need for her, even his wolf’s need to bond with her, was too powerful to ignore. Before he knew it, he had ripped her clothes off her in shreds.

“I do hope you know that was my favorite shirt.” She grinned. “I don’t have favorite clothing. I have a favorite style, and this one right here is topping the list of all of them combined.”

“I’m glad to hear you say that. I was thinking that you naked is about the best thing I’ve ever seen you in.” They both laughed, and he kissed her again. “I love you, Cody. So much. I want to make love to you all night long and into next year.”

“That’s a long time. How about we start smaller, and you just fuck me now?” Christ, he did love this woman. She was going to be a surprise at every moment. “Or, here’s one better. How about I fuck you? I think I can handle that. What do you think?”

“I think I’m the luckiest man in the world right now. And tomorrow after the wedding, I’ll be all the happier because you’ll be there beside me. Or in front of me. Whatever you want, I’m yours to command.”

When she got onto the bed, several things hit him at once. One was that she would be his wife tomorrow. That he was very much in love with her. The final thing was that it was forever. Stripping off his own clothing, slower this time, he told her what he wanted to do to her.

“So long as in the end, you and I are one, everything you said will be icing on the cake.”

Getting into bed with her, he decided that making love to her on their first night would be the one that set the tone for their years together. Layton knew he could take her hard and quick, and she’d be just as happy with that as he might be. But he wanted to make love, not take her. They were both going to be partners throughout their lives—they might as well be partners in making love too.

Touching her skin everywhere he could, he sampled parts of her that he knew she enjoyed. Her breath would catch when he touched his tongue to her nipple. Her ears turned pink when he nibbled at her ear lobe. Everywhere was a new taste. A new sound from her. But it wasn’t just him touching her.

Cody made his skin feel alive when she ran her nails down his spine. Her hands cupping his ass made his cock stretch and get harder still.
